We finally have 'completed' Corrina's room! She now has lovely hooks to hang her hoodies on, and i have hooks and a shelf to put special items on! I am excited! Thanks Dave for putting them up for us.

Magical: Corrina has been going down for naps on her own! I just put her in her crib and leave, and KAZAM, she is asleep! It is so thrilling and i am finally getting alot of time to myself, thus my mood has improved, and our dinners have improved too!
I am working on putting up a little video of Corrina giggling, but i can't seem to load it at the moment, but keep your eyes open!
Lately i have had some wonderful visits and chats on the phone with some friends. It has felt so great to talk about things that interest me. It has also helped me to recall all the wonderful things i learned in college and other courses. This is important to me because i studied with a career in mind, and i do not want to lose that valuable info and have to retake courses i have already done. It is good to feel useful!
That's it for now!

Twist Tonguer
Have you ever come up with a Tongue Twister? I have! I did so on my way to work this morning!
I was a little tiny, baby bug crawling on a tree stump, and tried to say
"Little Baby Lady Bug"
but couldn't spit it out! I tried it three times fast and it just got worse! Okay, but now as I write it out, I'm having no trouble saying it. Crap. Oh well, try it for yourself.
Peace out, Napolepon.

Saturday Night Fever...
minus the polyester and disco dancing. Things were still hot, but not as hot as John Travolta in the 1977 disco classic!
In my case it was just my head that was hot. My saturday night fever was not fun. I have not had a bad cold like this in a very long time. Sure, i get colds all the time, but they are the usual sore throat, runny nose variety. This cold came on strong! It started friday afternoon, and by evening I had the worst sinus headache i have ever experienced. Dave was out at Youth and i sat on the bed in agony wishing that i was in labour instead. EEEk. I eventually remebered i could take tylenol while breastfeeding, and the problem went away. But, soon to follow was my 'saturday night fever.' I had dellusions the entire night about "the right pillow" and i could not sleep because my pillow was not the right shape, size, softness, material, electrical (it is hard now to recall these pathological beliefs that i held at the time, but i am sure if you asked me in the moment i would have been quite convinced that there really was a whole world of pillow madness out there that was effecting my sleep in a very negative way, and reason would not have swayed me.)! So i tossed and turned and evntualy me and a new pillow (that i either found on the floor or perhaps stole from under dave's head) ended up at the foot of the bed. Corrina slept well, in that she only woke up once that night, which allowed me to actually get the rest i needed, once i solved the pillow problem that is.
I am mostly better now, although still stuffy in the nose and froggy in the throat! And man, did i look bad the whole weekend. The hair on my head was sticking out here and there (imagine your own animated gestures), kleenex littered the entire house, sniff sniff, blow blow were the sweet sounds that filled the air, and although i couldn't smell it myself, the house smelled like 'sick', as dave kept informing me (a combination of sweaty Janie, dirty catbox, baby poo, wet dishcloth, and garlicy garbage.) We have since remedied the smell and now if you visit us you will enjoy the tantalizing aroma of vanilla, wafting from our glade plug in!
Have i helped you to enjoy the experience! I hope so!
Dave a had great friday night Youth group! Lots of youth, lots of games, lots of noise, lots of fun! We had a splendid potluck last night with our friends! We ate GREAT food: carrot bananna raisin curry (don't know the 'name of the recipie), haitian eggplant goodness (again, nameless), excellent accident-rice (too much cardamom was a good thing!), hummus, and rockin moroccan stew! Yum Yum Yum!
I just realized that Dave posted something, must have been from work, just a few minutes ago. If i post this, i will have over-blogged him, and he doesn't like that. Soooo, if you are reading this, you should keep going and read the post under here too!

Please allow me a few moments of Geeking Out
Okay, I just have to say, Ernie and I had the BEST game of Pirates of the Spanish Main the other day! It’s a tabletop game where you build funky little ships – Square rigs, galleys, schooners and the like – and set sail for Gold and Glory!
I love any game that lets you explore different strategies of play, plus this one has PIRATES! How cool are PIRATES?!
So anyway, we started out with different fleets, and both approached the game very differently. Ships were boarded and commandeered, wild islands were explored and canon smoke filled the kitchen as we both raced for treasure. We both had our casualties with neither player was really coming out ahead. Then Ernie’s ships set a quick course for home with enough treasure to win the game when all of a sudden one of my ships boarded his and stole JUST enough gold to hinder his victory. I then sunk his other ship along with its gold, when Ernie stole MY ship, loaded with MY gold including the stolen booty I had taken from him! By this point my remaining ships had formed a make-ship blockade around his home island, attempting to block his final run. My dwindling fleet fired at his lone incoming ship, wounding but not sinking her.
So there we are. All the ships are either gathered around Ernie’s home base, or are belly up on the bottom of Davy Jones’ locker. It’s my turn. If I sink his ship (with a ship in tow, both loaded with gold) I win. If I miss and he takes his turn, he gets his ship home with enough gold to win. I have one roll of the die to sink his ship. A roll of 1, 2, or 3, and I miss. A roll of 4 or higher and I win. Can you feel the tension?
Man, I love a good game. Anyone who wants to play Pirates (or just about any other strategy game – I’m a sucker for the genre) just let me know. But be ye warned, there’s ner’ye a sailor survived a match with Captain NoBeard!

Recent Article
'Ello all.
I recent wrote an article for our Church Newsletter, and I thought I'd get y'all's opinion. It's written primarily for youth and children, so I realize that there is the occasional senctence fragment and such, but just look past that if you could. Let me know what you think.
Getting
by Dave Colvinson
Has this ever happened to you? You’re out shopping or flipping through a magazine or surfing the internet, and suddenly you see something – it could be anything. A new this, a better that – and you want it! Your eyes get big! You heart starts to pump! And you think “Ooo! I’d like to have THAT!”
Often times when I see something that catches my eye, I start thinking about it. A lot. I think about when I can get it, where I can get it, and what I can do with it. I start making excuses about why I should get it. I just get excited about getting! And sometimes I think about the Bible and how it says that Giving is good, right? And while it’s better to give than to receive, every giver means there has to be a receiver, right? Why shouldn’t that receiver be me?
Does this sound familiar? Do you like Getting as much as I do? If so, maybe you’ve noticed the same problem that I have. It seems that no matter how great something looks in the store, no matter how much fun it is once I get it, eventually the excitement wears off. After a while my eye starts to wander to newer and better things, convinced that this time they will hold my attention. But the stuff I’ve longed for never seems to satisfy.
Where has all the getting got me? Why was I so excited to get it if I’ll just end up needing more? Sometimes I want to get stuff because I’m bored or because I feel upset about something, and the getting makes me feel better. I want to forget my troubles and I want that excitement of getting again. But if getting doesn’t satisfy, then what am I doing?
Here’s my point. I’m not suggesting that you or I should renounce all belongings. I’m not telling you to sell all you have, go live in a tree, and live off honey and locust. That may work for some people, but that’s probably a little extreme. But I am suggesting this: before you buy something/get something/obsess over something, just ask yourself “Why?” It’s a revolutionary thought! If there’s one thing our culture doesn’t teach, it’s restraint in purchasing. But think about it. Just add one step to your purchasing process, think before you get, and maybe someday you won’t need so much anymore.
I want to share a verse from Luke on the subject of getting. In this passage Jesus is talking about a man who has much in life – so much that he doesn’t know what to do with it all – and then dies. Boom. And just like that, it’s all over. “a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.” Luke 15:21. I don’t know about you, but I do not want to end up like that guy! I’d like to let go of my stuff, and spend more time and energy on things that matter. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not there yet. But hey, I’m working on it.

janie Shy?
I went to a mom's group this morning with a friend. It was really nice to get out and meet some new people, and see crazy little kids. All those kids running around really assured in me that i don't want more than maybe three kids. The odd things was that while i was therei felt a little funny. I didn't know what to talk about, or when to chim into a conversation. I felt shy. I felt like i had nothing important to say, and that i was only a 'mother' and nothing more. I really didn't like this feeling. I don't know who i am. I have felt like this alot since having Corrina; the only conversation i seem to be able to make is about babies and stuff. Now, this isn't all bad, but when that is the only thing you can think of... well that just makes me a 'mom', and i know i am way more than that, and i want to be way more than that. I was reading a few books a bit ago, which helped me to think outside the 'crib' so i think i will just have to make more time for that again. I miss the world of education, organizing (maybe this is why i pounce on dave with a gazzilion ideas for things he could do at Church. I overwhelm him the things i think of, but i must just be trying to use some of my creative and organization skills.), planning, playing, socializing... i feel like i forget how to socialize. I kept almost asking all the women what they did/where they worked, and then i remembered 'wait, none of us work.. shoot, there goes that conversation starter.' Maybe this is a challenge to me to dig very deep and find out who i am. Yes, i am a mom, and am happy to be that, but i never ever want to only be a mom. I know my identity should be rooted in Christ, but i'm not going to be fake and say that it is. It will take a lot of digging and planting to be completely rooted in Christ, and i know it is a lifetime challenge. I want to be many things and know many things, and i plan on being them and knowing them!
Lesson of today: i forget how to socialize with new people. Funny eh?
Word out, for now

Should be making dinner
Well, it is about 5:00, dave comes home soon, Corrina is napping, and i am bloggin away my time. Yes, i should be lovingly preparing dinner for my sweet husband so i can lavish him with food and kisses when he comes in the door, but i simply am not that kind of woman. Tonight i am going to call on him to help me out, which he does without a fuss because he loves to make food too! And besides, i like sharing! Usualy by the end of the day i have run out of "clean house, and cook" type energy, and just want to visit, or play games, or watch movies, etc... tonight it just hit a little earlier! I did make some lovely bread pudding, with raisin bread and apples, (lonelyspoons cookbook. If you don't have them, get em'! Best brownies recipie too, with very little fat!) for dessert/breakfast, so i have half make food for tonight! Aww well.
Here is a recipie for you:
Healthy Pancakes (from vegitarian cooking for dumbies.. i think.. but could be very wrong.. anyway, courtesy of Sarah L)
1 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. white flr
1/3 c. wheat germ
1 tsp bk soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 TBsp bk powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 3/4 c. skim milk
1/4 c. olive/veg oil
1 egg
2 egg white(beaten till they form stiff peaks)
*measure dry ingrediants into Med. sized bowl
*add milk, oil, whole egg and stir well using a whisk. Break up chunks of flour with back of spoon
*fold in egg whites with wooden spoon
*batter will be thick, but light and somewhat foamy
* cook as usual
We really enjoyed these pancakes! Lots of flavour, and very fluffy! Hhhm, they would be great transformed into banana pancakes, or pumpkim pancakes too (just add a little less milk). If you are a proffessional pancake mixer/maker, sometimes you can fudge with the recipie so you don't have to add so much oil. I used to be able to do this and still mix everything right and come out with a great pancake, but i have lost my touch. Oh well! Enjoy
Oh, here is a picture of our dinner a few weeks ago: shepherds pie, but inside roasted squash! Very delicious (thanks martha kids!)

Another Colvinson Comment Contest!

I just wanted to share a photo of my beloved Muppets collection, 'cause I love them. They're so cute and well articulated and whimsical. But then I thought Hey! why not make a game out of it? Besides, everyone loves muppets, right? (well, not you Candace).
SO, can anyone name all the Muppets in the picture? I'll get you started: Waldorf is on the far left. Go!

Deus
I just have two things to say:
First of all, how cool is This Article. Invisibility! I LOVE this stuff! (and this is WAY cooler than that article Wired ran a few years back.
Secondly, I was reminded the other day of an ancient Dave-ian proverb from my childhood, and I thought I would share.
Find a penny, Pick it up
And all day you'll have a penny.
(I was very practical as a child at times).
Peace out, Napoleon.

A gazillion things
Just for your information, sometimes i go through my day thinking "i could blog this' or 'wow, won't everyone love this picture' or 'let's do something we can blog about later'. Do you do this too, or am i a wako?? I am feeling a little obsessed with the net again, now that dave is back at work. Ohhhh, i have a great 'healthy pancake' recipie to share. I took it from my friend sarah's veg cookbook. It is super delicious and filling and healthy! I will post it soon. Right now i have to pull myself away from here, while Corrina naps, and go do something with my hands. I think it will be oatmeal cookies. Yum (we really try to eat healthy, but i think we eat too many healthy things, which is still over eating when it comes down to it. ekkk).

Where we've been
Hello readers. Dave is almost done his week-ish of holidays so my lonely days will soon return. We didn't take too many pictures during the week, but we did some fun things! We watched some movies, went for walks, fed Corrina baby cereal for the first time. Oh yeah, she is now 4 months old! We can't believe how the time has passed. Life with her is wonderful. I think she likes her new treat of cereal, simply based on the fact that she swallows it! It is so funny to prepare a tbsp of food, and she doesn't even finish that small amount. Little tummies! She was weighed last week and she was 14lbs 12oz. She has taken a few baths in the big, real tub because she is too long for a baby tub now. Growing is good!
We has a little adventure while on holidays that got our pulse racing a little. We went for a walk one afternoon down by the river. Right now the river is flooded so the river walk is closed, but the ramp down to the walk was no longer blocked off. Dave wanted to throw a twig into the water and watch it move downstream (pooh sticks anyone?), so we ventured down the ramp to where the water came up over the riverwalk. Dave threw his twig and we stood there a few minutes watching it go. While we were standing there the wind picked up a little and we heard it russeling through the trees that were right beside us. I was rocking Corrina back and forth in her stroller when i heard a creaking sound, looked up, and tree was coming down on us. Dave was directly under it, and i had just pushed Corrina out of the way by means of rocking her. I scooted to the side, Dave dashed over beside us, and Corrina just slept! Eeeeeekkkk. So, a tree nearly feel on us. Wow. We were about 5 minutes away from home so we decided we would be safest there and we cut our walk short. We are glad that nothing did come of this. It is doubtful that we would have been seriously injured by the medium sized tree, but i am sure there would have at least been some broken bones and maybe some bloody heads! We are thankful that God is always watching out for us. No more walks down by the river for a few weeks.
We spent time rearraning our living room, playing video games, having fun with Corrina, shopping, going to bbq's (happy birthday candace), going to weddings (yeah for odie and zach), i sewed little summer capries for Corrie, we played a few games together, and just enjoyed every moment together. So here are a few photos, and a video

The joys of a mother
This is Corrina sitting in her "rocking" chair that we received from two lovely ladies at church. Here she can practice her swatting. When the cowie gets pulled-on it sings a song. For the last little while she has been able to grab the cowie, but she has never made it sing. Just the other night dave and i were in another room and we heard the cowie singing! Our little daughter can pull things! What a doll!
Ruffle Bum! While she was lying on our bed during this photo shoot she started wriggling her little knees and was pushing herself upwards with her feet and knees! She was trying so hard to squirm along!!! How adorable.
Wow, my first mother's day! Today has been wonderful. Plus, not only do i get 1 day for mother's day, i get a whole week. Dave is on vacation and we are going to do many wonderful things to enrich our lives! We have been reading the Bible together, and we will do lots more of that this week. We will paint some shelves and hooks for Corrie's room, and then hang them up. We are going to rearrange the living room, and maybe the bedroom. Will might go garage saleing on saturday, and maybe bring some friends along too! I AM SO HAPPY! I love being a mother, and my joy is increasing because:
CORRINA CAN PUT HERSELF BACK TO SLEEP!!! Saturday morning she woke up at 6:30... a little early, but better than 5:45 like the day before. I went in, gave her a soother, left, and listened. She played and squeeled (sooo cute!) for about 20 minutues, and then i gave her a soother again, and she quieted down and went to sleep! Just now she woke up midway through a nap, and we gave her a soother and left, and she is back asleep! I am so happy. She is doing just wonderful and we are blessed to have a happy baby. She brings joy to many people (she gets passed around alot at church and spreads her love that way!).
I had a first with Corrina last night. We snuggled in a warm and cozy bath tub together! It was so amazing to hang out with her in the nude (won't include any pitures!) and feel her silky skin on my tummy! I sat her up in my lap so that the water was up to her shoulders and she kicked her little feet around and tried to drink the water at every chance. It was such a wonderful bonding experience. Dave then washed her up, while i held her! He took her and put her to bed and i got to stay and lounge in the soozing bath! So really my mother's day started last night.
What did you do for mother's day?
Claire: you can see from the photo of her in the dress you bought her just how much she has grown!
PS> Please take time to view the video and let us know if it works!

Uhh Oh
Some of you know my obsession with expensive, unique shoes/boots. Have you seen my maroon, wingtipped Fluvog boots, for instance?? Well, i just found wingtipped maryjanes, and boots, and such for Corrina. What am i to do??? They cost about what we get each month for our child tax benefit, but i don't think that would be a wise spend. Oh dear oh dear. I don't think i will rest until she has a little pair. But, her feet grow so quickly.. ekkk...

Living room Frenzy!
Our Living room is out of control (well, not really, but to me, Janie, it is.) I have such a hard time moving around all the STUFF in it... coffee table, excersize ball, chairs, baby things... ekkk. So for the past week me and dave have been brainstorming how we can arrange our living room. I want practical and esthetically pleasing. Dave just wants me to stop bugging him about moving the living room around (which will never happen... i am a furniture mover, but i am finding it is much harder to move a whole living room than a teenage girls bedroom. My room used to get shuffled at least every 2 months, and that includes me moving it all the way to the basement one weekend when my mom was away. She said i wasn't allowed to, but i was pretty sure she didn't know what she was talking about, and if only i took the time to show her how awesome it would be if i lived in our rec room than her life, and mine, would be alot more complete. I must have been a joy to raise!) But, i think i will feel more satisfied if we can come up with a wonderful way to arrange everything. Now, Dave and i have gone over a gazillion plans, and haven't been able to really "picture" anything, so i here i am, asking for help. What can you do, you ask?! Well, you can leave a comment letting me know your favorite decoratin website, magazine, etc. or you can come over (i'm serious!) and give me your ideas (there are "beauty schools" where one can get cheap hair cuts, well there should be a similar service for interior decor students.. know of any? I would hire one!), or you can put a photo of your living room up on blogger for me to admire, or you can tell me what you think (if you have been here and know what it looks like). I have been going through ikea magazines looking at pictures, to which dave replies "but those show rooms don't have nearly as much furniture as we do... and they aren't real, or lived in". He he he... i know he is right but i am SURE we can have a been arrangement than we presently have. I am now going to take a snap shot of our living room, as is (not put together at all) and let you tell me what you think we could do! All ideas welcome! (I know that having a nice looking living room is pretty trivial, but i have to be at home most of the day and i am ready for a change!)
Janie
Computer desk problem (we have to run a phone cord from kitchen to desk. It would be difficult, but doable, to have the desk in a diff spot.)

In the pictures above there are boxes from the table in the middle of the floor. Those, of course, don't live there. The gold chair lives beside the rocker, and the little white book shelf lives right behind it. Oh yes, and the white desk beside the shelves is moving!
Ohkay, decorate my house!

Beautiful table, wonderful chairs
Our kitchen is now wobble free. While we will miss the lovely blue table that Candace lent us for so long (thank you! It was a BIG blessing!) we are in love with our new round table and chairs, which are nice and sturdy! Before we know it Corrina will be joining us at this new table to gobble down mush and cereal! Here are some picture from our life the past week, and of course the new table and chairs (Thank you mom and dad Colvin. They are perfect!)

Happy dave janie corrie

Dave wrote a little lullabye for Corrina just now. I am going to share it.
We've got you swaddled
We've got you ready
Now go to bed
And go snuggle your teddy
We are having a very calm night and focusing on putting Corrina to bed early by 9:30). Right now she is relaxed in dave's arms. She has been overtired (my fault) and we are going to cure that.
Today i went for a beautiful walk with a beautiful friend. I had a wonderful time and it felt so good to move and talk! Thanks friend.
Dave would like to describe his day using this sentance:
"a process of plodding and stumbling onward towards the hope of a richer although somewhat ubiquitous end."

Screaming Monday
Today is monday. Dave has mondays off so after we finished our chores (we had mounds of dishes to do because we spent the day making a cake for a friend's engagement party. I'll find the picture... And there was a superfluous amount of icing and caking and such involved in this process, so there were sooo many dishes. Oh, and there was a colorful spread of clean clothes taking of residence on our bed... still putting those away) we decided to go for a walk with little Corrina. But being overtired, she woke up in the middle and could not get back to sleep so was forced to wail at the top of her lungs until we arrived home and could help her sleep. So while i would usualy agree with some people that personal music devices are a nuisance and prevent people from listening to the nature around them or conversing with others, today (and other days) i have appreciated that they save me the embarassment of walking past people who are thinking "bad mother... listen to that screaming baby". Of course i know that the majortiy of people are not thinking this, especially people who themselves have/had babies, but i will admit that i feel like they think that about me: Cooley's Looking Glass. Said walk certainly was not the joyeous occasion we intended it to be, but we still got our excersize and are happy campers!
Recently i have found more time to read and i have choosen the book Abba's Child by Brennan manning. It is an extraordinary look at behaving and living with the understanding and trust that God loves us completely, not because he has to, but because he wants to. He likes us... imagine that. There are so many challenging thoughts in this book and i am going to take a moment to share a few that impacted me greatly this morning:
"God calls His children to a countercultural lifestyle of forgiveness in a world that demands an eye for an eye-and even worse. But if loving God is the first commandment, and loving our neighbor proves our love for God, and if it is easy to love those who love us, then loving our enemies must be the filial badge that identifies Abba's Children. The summons to live as forgiven and forgiving children is radically inclusive. it is addressed not only to the wife whose husband forgot their wedding anniversary but also to parents whose child was slaughtered by a drunken driver, to the victims of slanderous accusations, to the poor living in flithy boxes who see the rich drive by in Mercedes...The dmenads of forgiveness are so daunting that they seem humanlu impossible. The exigencies of forgiveness are simply beyond the capacity of ungraced human will. Only reckless confidence in a Source greater than ourselves can empower us to fogive the wounds inflicted by others. In Boundary moments such as these there is only one place to go-Calvary. Stay there a long time and watch as Abba's Only-Begotten dies utterly alone in bloddy disgrace...The crucified Christ is not merely a heroic example to the church: He is the power and wisdom of God, a living force in His present riseness, tranforming our lives and enabling us to exten the hand of reconciliation to our enermies. Understanding triggers the compassion that mkes forgiveness possible... The heartfelt compassion that hastens forgivenss matures when we discover where our enemy cries. "
Wow, that was a mouthful! But such an excellent bite of wisdom. Now i shall work on swallowing it all and implementing it in my everyday. Forgiveness is so important because with it (perhaps preceeding it) comes the compassion for people that Jesus daily exemplified. Because God has such tender compassion for us he has perfect acceptance of us. How wonderful. We are God's beloved.
One last quote of a quote in the book:
"Henri Nouwen's words are incisive here: 'What is required is to become the Beloved in common places of my daily existence and, bit by bit, to close the gap that exists between what i know myself to be and the countless specific realities of everyday life. Becoming the Beloved is pulling the truth revealed to me from above down into the ordinariness of what i am, in fact, thinking of, talking about, and doing from hour to hour."
Now i will share some pictures with you... random pictures.
This is our good friend Ernie! He is a great guy. Him and Corrina were chillaxing at our friends engagement party this weekend.

This is a cake I made for our friends engagement party. Her colors are green and pink (those are little pink, yellow and white flowers... sorry small pic). Dave helped me out with the decorating. It tasted delicious and wasn't too hard to do. I wish everyone could have enjoyed the cake. Congratulations Odie and Zach (i fyou ever stop in here). See you at your wedding! Oh yes, and in the picture below you can see our new chairs. Super comfy, and they don't fall apart when you sit on them.

Great-Grandma
My mom sent us an email yesterday that I wanted to share. Mum was talking to her mother (my grandmother, aka "Nanny," and Corrina's Great-grandmother). Here's the part I wanted to share:
I talked to Nan yesterday and she was so excited because she had finally been able to see the blog pictures of Corrina clearly - some days her sight is better than others. She has pronounced Corrina "absolutely adorable" and "pretty as a picture" so now its official!
I just thought that was so neat! I don't hardly know anything about my great-grand parents, and my family tree has always looked a bit like something out of Charlie Brown's Christmas, so it's just really neat for me to see the family stretch and grow. First me and Janie, then Mark and Rachel, and now Corrina! And that makes Janie Mark and Claire's sister in law, and Rachel Claire and Mine's sister in law! And Corrina makes John and Lucy (my grandparents) GREAT Grandparents...and so forth and so on, and all the sudden my family is blooming!
I dunno. It's just a nice feeling, this family thing. And I thought I'd share. I just hope I can hang on to that email long enough for Corrina to read it--that'd be neat.

3 Months
Here are some pictures from the life of Corrina as a 3 month old! Her new accomplishments include sleeping better with longer naps, sucking fingers, smiling and sorta giggling, wearing cloth diapers, and most difficult of all: constantly being cute!

Cute easter dress!

Carcassonne debacle!!
So here's a question:
If you're in the middle of a game, and your game is cut short (for whatever reason) do you:
a) Pack up everything and forever wonder who won, ignoring the current standings complelety and arguing that "The game wasn't finished yet"
b) Tally up the score as it stands (not forgetting that the final score would have been different yet nonetheless acknowleding the current leader as "Winner")
c) Other
Let us know!
(to all who may be concerned as to our marital state at this point, please see the above as a humourous attempt and nothing serious! We love you!)

On a completely unrelated note:
Here is a test for anyone who's ever wondered if they're dyslexic:
If you see the word "Convulsion", think it says, "Convolution", but notice that "Convulsion" bares a striking visual resemblance to the word "Colvinson", YOU MAY BE A RED NECK!
(um... I mean, uh, dyslexic. You may be dyslexic).

Chocolate!
There’s nothing quite like Chocolate, is there? So smooth and sweet, so melt in your mouth. Mmmmm! Chocolate is one of my favourite sweets (and that’s saying a lot!). But there’s a lot about chocolate that I bet you didn’t know! Like did you know that chocolate, when you forget about it in your pocket, will melt very, very quickly? Did you know that even a tiny about of chocolate, say from two tiny Easter eggs, can spread over the surface area of the total contents of said pocket? Keys, key chains, a quarter, even an old shopping list! And did you know that chocolate, although sweet and yummy, is also sticky, stains easily, and does not like to leave a pocket or its contents once it has adhered itself (both physically and emotionally, as I can only imagine). Well I sure do! Chocolate is also giving! I started off with just two little chocolates, and now not only do I now have a lovely brown stain in my pants, but I have also gained smelly keys and a quarter with a much-improved flavour!
Mmmmm, Chocolate! Nothing else like it!
Happy Easter!

Rolley polley
Janie and Dave ate Rolley Polley's for breakfast (biscuit cinnamon buns), and Corrina rolled from front to back today! Here she is trying! She is so amazing. It was just on friday that she really starting pushing herself around when on her stomache, and now, sunday, she can roll over. She is also spending alot of time trying to shove her WHOLE hand in her mouth and sucking on it. It is very cute to watch. When she is lying under some of her dangley toys she makes attempts to hit them, and today her little hand latched onto a loop dangling in front of her! She is very attentive and loves to smile when people look at her. Needless to say we are having a great time parenting this little treasure.
Also, enjoy the happy family pictures taken just the other day! Thanks for all the comments on the posts. I love reading them, although i don't always get a chance to reply to them.
Tomorrow it is going to be warm in Winnipeg (18). We hope to get a walk in, and then have a bbq/bonfire at our Tricia's place with some friends. What a nice way to start the week. Glee and wonder to all.

Narnia Night
Hey there all,
This is just a simple request. This evening I'm hosting a Narnia-themed evening with our Junior Youth at the church. This is one of our first Junior events and I really want it to go well. Please, if you remember, please pray for the evening and the youth, and that God would impact their lives as we talk about Aslan and Christ's sacrifice.
Thanks all.

3 Quick Thoughts
Hey there, bloggerland! How are ya!
I just needed to share 3 things.
1. Carcassonne. If you've never played this game, you need to. It's probably my favourite (if you live nearby, come play it with me!) Build cities, farm pastures, rule with an iron fist, it's all good. Tile-based strategy never looked so good. Especially good for fans of Settlers (and not as expensive!).
2. Scratch Fury: Destroyer of Worlds, is sure to delight the Feline Fan in you. Cat lovers and lovers of good comics will enjoy these three links. PVP has definately become my favourite webcomic.
3. The views expressed in the "Giant Corrina in the Grand Canyon with a Transformer" wallpaper (below) are those of the participants and do not necessarily reflect those of youcanspellthis.blogspot.com That was just a gag and wasn't really meant for public display. Don't come after me, claiming "Child endangerment" or "Public humiliation" or "Blatent disregard for all that it decent and good". I mean, sure those things are "true", But hey! It's funny!

Desktop Wallpaper!
This morning i was staring at our computer wallpaper, which at the time displayed a lovely picture from our trip to the grand canyon, and thought it would be nice to instead have a cute picture of Corrina on there. Dave was at the computer at the time so i asked him if he could put a picture of our baby up. A few minutes later i looked over to see this:
So now we have Corrina, in the Grand Canyon, being visited by a transformer. Ahhh, all our tastes combined into one!
Today has been a really great day. Corrina has had a few nice 1 hour naps, i have dinner going in the crock pot and i made a fruit filled coffee cake! Yum! I am drinking an iced Chai tea, and i think i might take some time and work on our filing system. Calm, together days are really nice. Corrina is currently snoozing in her swing. We will probably go for a little walk once dave gets home, eat dinner, i will visit our friend Tricia and Dave will grocery shop.
Calm days to all!!

Just some pictures

Here are some pictures (for you Candace!). They aren't new ones, but they are great ones. Above is our friend Tricia looking great.
Corrina, Correy-Nina, pumpkin, cutie, cupcake, little baby: just a few of the names we call this one by!

Auntie Sarah and Corrina hanging out one night!
That's it. I will take more pictures for all your travelling friends so you don't miss any changes!
